Possible to avoid hit counts coming from the scanners?

I think that some of the hits on my shortened urls are coming from auto scanners. For instance I send a link to a friend who is using Gmalil, and I see that the counter goes up right away and I know he has not checked that link at that point. And logical conclusion is that that must be the Gmail’s email scanner hitting the link.

So I guess I am wondering if there is a way to count only the human clicks instead of any kind of access to the shortened url?

The reason I am asking for this because it is very confusing to see these mixed results on a shortened url.
